Get CASHBACK on your online purchases!

Do you shop online? Who doesn’t? I don’t have a ton of time to spend going to shopping malls or looking for the best deal. This is why I love Paribus!

Paribus is a great app that tracks your purchases via receipts in your email. If the price on the item you bought drops, you get a REFUND!

“Paribus scans your inbox for receipts and automatically saves you money when the items you bought drop in price.
Stores often guarantee that you will get the lowest prices. They even promise to price match. But they don’t follow through unless you work for it. Paribus does the work for you. When you are owed money, Paribus automatically gets it for you.
Sign-up with your mailbox and Paribus handles everything else: Automatically detect purchases, monitor and compare price changes in real time, and engage with stores on your behalf to get you paid.”

Paribus does charge you 15% of your refund as a success fee, but if you invite three friends, that fee drops to 0%!

Why I haven’t been couponing

I know that this blog and our Facebook page have been lacking the last year or so. There’s a reason for that.

I have been working on finishing my Bachelor’s degree. It has been a long dream of mine to finish, so last year, after becoming a certified wedding planner (yes, that’s a real thing!), I decided my next goal was to finish my degree. I had a year and a half left, but I was determined to get it all done within one year. What was I thinking?

Well, I was thinking that I needed to set a deadline for myself, or I wouldn’t get done. I am the type of person to get motivated for a bit, but then lose interest. I needed to kick my own butt into gear. So after taking one summer session, two full semesters of four classes each, and 4 CLEP/DSST exams, I was finally done! On June 9th, 2015, I attended my commencement ceremony at Carnegie Hall in NYC. It was the most exciting and liberating time in my life.

I did all of this while trying to maintain a digital media internship for a wedding planner and having two children. One of which is 2.5 years old and very demanding. So couponing took a backseat.

Saving money IS important to me. It should be important to anyone with a family. But, it’s not the most important thing. There has been so much going on, and I just decided not to burden myself with more than I needed to.

In addition, I just feel the deals aren’t there anymore. Rite Aid is my favorite store to coupon at (and closest to me) and once they got rid of Video Values and +Up Rewards, I felt that the deals just got worse. I do live near a Walgreens, but I don’t find myself having enough time to go there and coupon.

That being said, I plan on trying to get the deals once again. Thank you all for bearing with me. Crazy Couponing was never a money-making venture for me, nor was it ever a full time job. It’s always been a hobby. I just didn’t realize it would be a hobby that got so big! So thank you for all the kind messages and well-wishes while I’ve been on a sabbatical. But it’s time to get back to the art of saving!

Much love,
Amara
